You know, I would be lying if I said He-Man wasn’t the shit when I was growing up in the 80’s. l longed to come home from school and turn on our TV (Complete with all 3 channels that came in!), and just wait until I heard “By the power of Greyskull…..I have the POWER!”, and then completely go ape shit! I loved He-Man and the Masters of the Universe when I was a kid, there.. I said it. I had the figures, Castle Greyskull, everything! If it had to do with He-Man, I was all over it. Now She-Ra, on the other hand, that’s a different story all together. Unless you wanted to be subjected to serious beat downs and forced to consume various types of dirt at recess, being a young boy I generally didn’t run around playing with She-Ra dolls, plus by the time she came out I was getting a little too old to even care. (more…)

Holy shit we’re back, like a bad case of Herpes!Sorry for the long delay in updates around here! Luckily, Adrian from Thoughtlab, was nice enough to send over his latest review of DJ Vadim’s new LP “Soundcatcher”. Be sure to check out Adrian’s blog and podcast (
The 80’s seem to still be a pretty popular trip down nostalgia lane these days. More so for people who were kids in that era, but still popular with the curious kids of today none the less. While it’s true that we here at TFE dabble in the whole “80’s Nostalgia” theme so to speak, we did
Sometimes, things just happen to work out in our favor. Not always mind you (more like never), but this time, we actually fell into some great deals, that all came together and formed like Voltron into one giant package of happiness! Hence our Famicom complete with disk system and 8 games! Now, if you don’t know, Famicom (short for Family Computer) was released in Japan in July of 1983 by Nintendo. Upon seeing the failure of Atari at the time, (think around the time they released the game E.T.), Nintendo tried to capitalize on the market (more specifically Atari’s shitty game titles) and released the Famicom. It soon became a HUGE success, and it was normal to have people waiting in line for over 5 hours on any given day to try and buy one. Fast forward two years later, and Nintendo brought the Famicom to American audiences under a new title, you guessed it, the Nintendo Entertainment System, or NES for short.
It’s been a long time, but we’re finally back (I don’t think anyone even knew we were here), and with another Hall Of Records review none the less! We dug deep into our stash and found 3 classic old school cereal box records. What’s that you say? Well, to those who are relatively young, let me explain. Cereals such as General mills, Kellogs, etc. used to run promotions where they would have a “record” on the back of the cereal box, or sometimes inside. See kids, this is back before CD’s and MP3’s, and the only means to play these things were to slap these baby’s on your turntable. I wish they still did shit like that. Needless to say, in our search through the Hall Of Records, we found 3 perfectly preserved examples of just how cool Count Chocula and his friends were (is Frankenberry gay?). Anyways, the one we will be reviewing today is………Count Chocula Goes to Hollywood!
To get with the Halloween spirit of things, we decided to post an article on one of our favorite (somewhat) new toy companies out there, FlapJack Toys! “Who?” you may be asking yourself. Flapjack Toys is a company owned by Mike Becker, the same Mike Becker who used to own
